Hello to all again...I have found a 1995 LC that has something between the E and the N in Cent... Does anyone know what this is called? Thanks in advance!
Here's another example I have "coined" the phrase a copper transfer, well that's what I call it when the copper plating comes off or transfers to another part of the coin. Zinc coins copper plated. in this case the OP coin may have a transfer from another coin that the Top of the "T" came off and transferred to the area shown. notice how the OP coin the area looks like the cross on top of the T. However on my coin it was a broad strike and the "T" from the strike was stretched leaving the area un coated by the copper plate. That's also why it's hard to train your eye to whether the area in question is raised or pushed into the coin surface. It's nether it's on the same surface.
I thought it was when a member of the PD transferred from one department to another, i.e. homicide to vice or narcotics to IAB. Chris
