1995 improperly annealed quarter?

    Hi everyone, love this site. learning a lot here. didn't know as much as I thought I did. anyways, check out this quarter. is this an improperly annealed coin? I love it personally. I call her my black beauty quarter. quarter obverse.jpg quarter reverse.jpg

    thanks for the feedback. don't know much about annealing. thought I would ask. this coin is strange to me. almost like paint peeling. the silver top layer is really thin.

    Its a gold (or other metal, mercury perhaps) plated that's been circulated heavily and now the plating is wearing off. Dubious folk put these plated sets together to sell to suckers on QVC at astronomically high prices. Suckers buy them because, well they included this beautiful wood display case absolutely free. Said suckers then find out when they need rent money that their quarters are only worth a quarter. Wallowing in their shame they spend them on smokes and booze because they're worth less than said smokes or booze.
