Hello. My name is Jeremy. I am new to this so coin photos and questions are going to start coming out the gate. When going through my change I came across this 1995 P mint Dime. The edge looks as if it has been pressed and set multiple times. Is this common?
Welcome to the neighborhood, Jeremy! The first thing you want to work on is the photo presentation. Be sure to take the photos from directly overhead and always take photos of both sides. Then you'd want to crop and resize the photos so that the coin, itself, rather than the background, takes up most of the frame. As for the photo of your coin, the rim appears to be higher than it should. I'm guessing that it has been "spooned". This means that someone has probably tapped the edge continually to flatten it. The edge would normally have reeding. Is your coin missing the reeding? If so, this is post-mint damage......PMD. Chris
Partial collar strike is my opinion. I found a quarter yesterday with the same error. And welcome to cointalk!
This is an example of a partial collar strike which is sometimes referred to as a "railroad rim". What happens is that the retaining collar does not fully settle around the coining chamber which results in a partially formed edge. Chris
I HAVE A DIME I JUST FOUND 1995 MINT P. THE SIDE WITH THE PRINTING LIBERTY THE EDGE SEEMS HIGHER THEN THE EDGE ON SIDE WHERE DATE IS LOCATED.
START YOUR OWN UNIQUE SEPARATE THREAD.. This is an old thread. You also need to provide pictures for us to help you. Don't use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. That means you are yelling. And.. Coins are not printed. Paper Currency is printed using ink.
Welcome to CT @82/APRIL. It pays to check the date of the posts as this one is over 5 years old, but also, as stated by @paddyman98, start your own thread, with good photos, and you should get a lot of opinions on your coin. Good luck.
