So iam still new at this collecting stuff but Iam working on a collection of proof ASE. I have 2000-2007. I was doing some price searching on the coins in the 90's now. just out of curiosity why is the 1994 ASE so exspensive?

The 1994 proof had the lowest mintage (372,168), other than the 1995W proof.

Low Mintage???? Not really, but perception is everything. Because the 1994 Proof has a "Lower Mintage" (not by much) it is the premium date. Is a coin with a mintage of 372,000 way more scarcer than a simular coin with a mintage of 500,000+??? Not really, but perception is everything...

You are right bz, perception is everything. I never said " low" mintage either, just " lowest ", other than the 95W.Though 372,000 is a bit more than 25% less than 500,000.

It is a case of supply & demand. If there are a small number of pieces for a date of a certain coin & people want it,then the price will go up.If there are a small number of pieces for a date of a certain coin & people don't want it,then the price will stay low.
