Anyone ever seen something like this before? It's a line that parallels the jawline to the SW. I don't see any sign of damage. Reminds me somewhat of the 1997 Doubled Ear DDO in that it may have been caused by the die snapping into position. However, I don't see any other signs of doubling. Comments appreciated!

It looks like a well struck cent. There were billions of these struck. And most that are seen are worn weakly struck and for the most part damaged. If the line you are referring to doesn't happen to be part of the design, Then I would chalk it up to a linear plating blister. A do with that amount of separation would show in other areas of the coin.

It appears based on that pic it is a plating blister. IMO

This action has nothing to do with a Doubled Die or Hub Doubling.

Thanks for pointing that out. Clearly, I shouldn't have said "die" in any case. I do seem to remember there was a theory that the hub snapped into position during the single squeeze manufacture of the working die, producing the central doubling on the 1997 DDO. However, I don't know if anyone envisions that happening anymore. .

It is a plating blister and has nothing to do with a DD.
