Can someone tell me what I have here? I found it while weighing my coins last night. Is this doubling on the ONE CENT?

Thank you. Can you tell me what that would be considered? Is there a category that would fit in?

Most of it looks to me like DDD or MD. Deteriorated Die Doubling or Machine Doubling.
I used to find that stuff and let out a " Whoop and a Holler ", now it's just worth a sigh.

Check out this link, especially the "Worthless Doubling" part. It will explain how it happens and why it's worthless.

Thank you SO MUCH! I've been reading ever since. So the a real doubled die looks more like a smear as a mechanical die seems stacked on top??

No. The 'smear' type is just more worthless doubling.

There is a pictorial diagram floating around here someplace (a lot of members have it, I do not) that shows the difference between real doubling and machine doubling.

I'm hoping someone will read this and post that diagram soon.
