I found this cent and I know it looks cleaned, but is this a wide AM that I'm seeing or are they to close to be 'wide'? If it is, what do you think it would be worth? I don't really mind if it isn't worth anything. I could just throw it back into my kid's piggy bank. Thank you for your input ;D

Okay. Just double checking. I've been doing this with my kids to get them into this hobby, but they insisted and I promised I'd get expert opinions. Thank you :)
I'll make sure to be more stern about it next time lol.

Anytime, but I'd hardly consider myself an expert. I just have looked at THOUSANDS of close and wide AMs. It's just too bad that I can never find the opposite of what it should be.

In any case, I appreciate your feedback. I agree about not finding what would actually be a super find. But, so far, my kids are getting pretty into roll searching and finding just one mishap on any cent. I love their enthusiasm.

Have you been finding many wheats?

Yes I have, but not in great condition. We do keep them though. So far out of five rolls we've found four wheaties. One was in pretty good condition with just a few little scratches. I am not totally pleased with them, but finding them in a very small rural village in Alaska is pretty impressive I think lol. Maybe I could post a picture of the best one tomorrow for you.

You have the best of both worlds. Have much enjoyment searching with them. It's the memories they will carry with them for a lifetime.

Heck, 4 wheats out of 5 rolls sounds good to me. I just searched a whole box and only found 4.

I am enjoying these experiences with my kids. Its something positive that they have with me and I'd like for them to start their collections early on so that when my most prized coins get willed to them they know exactly how much its worth. But, anyway here is the cent I was talking about. I just realized it is a 'war cent' lol.

Shows a little wear, but it's a great find from circulation.
