    Hey guys,

I'm relatively new to collecting and found this in a roll today. Wondering if its worth anything... it has some significant doubling on the '3' and I'm thinking that its some form of machine doubling or possibly die deterioration. Still cool to look at though:

The doubling on the 3 of the date fits the characteristics of MD

    Hi and Welcome!

The picture is too small to really tell.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the advice, I figured it was MD.

This forum has already helped me learn so much about die doubling in only a couple days... thanks guys. I'm starting to feel like my young eyes should be able to spot a true DD right away without a loupe!

I'm still trying to get a handel on telling an MD from a DD easily but if this is MD wouldn't there be doubling on the other numbers as well ?

Machine doubling and die deterioration doubling can happen anywhere. Those pictures are great, I was able to zoom way in.

MD can be anywhere and everywhere, sometimes even in slightly different places where you wouldn't expect it...
