Howdy all, The subject is 1992 Olympic Games Turks and Caicos Islands 5 Crown coin set (three coins in set in original 'jewelry box style' case for Albertville France and Barcelona Spain. Even though I have done extensive research on the internet I have yet to discover the composition of the coins and whether or not they have any value at all. The only place I have seen another set just like these is being auctioned on ebay. The seller lists these as being proof silver coins. I am not so certain the coins are silver, much less proof Each coin weighs in at 26.5 grams and appears to be the same size as an Ike dollar. Other exact measurements I do not yet have. I am open to gaining new knowledge... jeankay
There were actually 6 coins issued with the Olympic theme, they are all copper/nickel. Value is listed in Krause as $4.50 each. The Turks & Calicos Islands are lot like the Isle of Man - they issue pretty much meaningless coins like this about every year.
