Greetings, first I don't think this is a close am but that's not what I want to ask you. On the reverse, second bay from the left, it looks like the sky is falling LOL that's the first thing I thought chicken little. But it looks like part of the Arch fell down. The other's are intacked but not that one. Doesn't look like it took a hit it's not a zinc bubble , I took a toothpick to it. I learned that out here. So enlighten me ladies and gentlemen
I think your talking about this area .... Seems like I've seen this before. and I would caulk it up to be an area hit on the die stamp. Kinda like a over polished die as the die surface is damaged. Could be a number like this on the Coneca list ? I couldn't find it. maybe someone else could ?
Difficult to tell, even enlarging the photos, but it could be a platting issue as strange bubbles are fairly common.
Wide AM - Normal And a simple linear plating bubble in the area in question. Not all bubbles will pop.
Thanks everybody but that surface does not break like I said I took a toothpick to it and it's hard. If not all bubbles Pop, then they're not all bubbles, are they? I did not want to scrape it for fear of damaging it. Won't a die chip leave other traces in the area that the chip came from? I've learned one thing in the coin collecting business there's always something new everyday and never gets old a little aggravating at times but never old
