1992-D Lincoln - 9s doubled?

    This 1992-D is in a mint set. The two 9s look doubled from straight on. Are they doubled enough to be considered an error? Any value? Thanks for looking.

    Can't say for sure about the 9s', but, the mint mark looks doubled, maybe a RPM?

    Hard to tell in that photo, but it looks like a machine strike to me. IMHO
    Hope someone else can clarify this for you better than me.

    I have a 1992 D Double Date and I have been looking for any info. on it , but nothing so far. I know now that there is more then one.

    Yep got one of those too and I believe a 1993-D also,Think I read some where that they were somewhat common,but I could be wrong,my knowledge of collecting only goes back about 6 years

    This is not machine doubling but appears instead to be a peculiar form of die deterioration doubling that is largely or exclusively restricted to copper-plated zinc cents. You get a secondary image that's incuse. The date is most often affected, followed by LIBERTY. Far more dramatic examples exist.
