1992 D cent, looks like strong doubling on reverse??

    image.jpg I was searching a roll when I noticed, with my naked eye, that America on the reverse look very odd. You can see what might be doubling, MD? I noticed the R had a good serif at the bottom and the E and C seem to have notching.

    looks like die erosion doubling.

    I'll try again, later today, to get better pics. I can see where there are three "doubles" of the letters. One is the actual letter, the second, either MD or DD and the third looks like die erosion. I've never seen three impressions of the letters before.

    I wish I could get a better picture of it right now. I don't know if you can see it, but the E seems to curve NE. The middle leg, especially the tip of it, curves strongly NE.

    Looks like plating issues mixed with die deterioration.
