I found this in circulation and I’m wondering whether this would be a wide or close AM cent. It looks too close to be a wide AM but too far to be a close AM.

Instead of focusing on the A and M, try looking at the M and E. I'm not suggesting this is definitive in any way, but you'll notice that on "wide" coins, the spacing will appear to be correct while on "close" coins, it almost looks as if a mistake. Do this and your answer will be obvious.

A good site to use when you are searching for lincoln cent errors is www.lincolncentresources.com . They have a pretty comprehensive list and even great pictures there to help you out if you ever forget. I hope you find a '92 close AM! I caught a '99 wide (I think or was it a '00??) and it's pretty exciting. Not worth a whole lot but exciting none the less.
