Was curious if this was a close am. There are three Penny's in this pic a 1993 and two 1992 Penny's. The possible error is on the reverse. Meaning the back of a 1993 penny on a 1992. The bottom left I think is normal. And the bottom right is close. And the 1993 above is also normal. Aso possible doubled die on the 1992 bottom right with the close am?
None of those like close AM's to me, but you need better close up pictures of the individual coin your referring too.
The one on the left has a narrow G the one on the right has a g that looks like its a capital D with a missing top right of the D to make a G
Both 1992s the one on the right is a D mint mark with the possible 1993 or close AM. It doesn't refer to the distance from the letters as the FG at the right foot of the lincoln memorial. And the font used in AM matches the 1993 penny above as do the FG. The 1992 on the left seems yo have a different font and FG
If you want a definitive answer you will have to get closer clear pictures of both the AM and the FG.
I know it's not a great picture but I found this today and wanted some input. I compared it to another 1992 D penny that I have and the AM in this one looks to be closer than the other. Thoughts?
And I'm confused by your original post of three coins. Which one do you feel is the 1992 close AM cent?
Im not an expert but I have looked through thousands of coins looking for close and wide AM s.IMO not a close am.Find coins that were made with the close am and after awhile you will know almost instantly.
