I have 4 differente Franc. coins. 5 Francos, 2 Francos and 1 Franco. The relation between Oberse-Reverse in these three is FRONT TURN OVER. But The relation between Oberse-Reverse in the 1/2 Franco is OPEN BOOK. Is this an error? O the coinage in France is a little crazy? Thank for your help.
Well first of all they aren't French they are Swiss. Some Swiss coins have been struck with coin orientation and some with medal orientation. It is possible to find the same coin type with both orientations. Usually one orientation will be much more common than the other but I'm not sure I would call it an error. In some cases they are even listed in the catalogs as two different sub-types. If they were errors I would expect them to come with other rotations as well but they always seem to be correct coin or medal orientation and not some off rotation.
No, it's not. Swiss coins used to have parallel orientation (↑↑ - what Americans call "medal" alignment) for some denominations, and inverted orientation (↑↓ - called "coin" alignment by US collectors) for others. Later that got standardized; like most countries in the world, Switzerland now uses parallel orientation for all coins. Christian
