just found in my spare change a 1991 jefferson nickel with copper showing its more on the reverse and a bit on the obverse and alot around the rim can some one give me information an price 1991 p
Could be a bit of an issue called Improperly Annealed. Nickels don't have a clad layer so it can't be a clad issue where the copper core is exposed such as dimes and quarters. In an Improperly annealed coin some of the copper mixed with the nickel will stand out due to overheating of the planchet to soften it before it is struck. Could also be environmental damage. Some chemical that affected the appearance.
