1991 error dime? P mint

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by Jesse Gillispie, Dec 3, 2017.

  1. Hi, can anyone help me with this? I've seen a few on other searches and wonder if anyone would know? I don't think it's a dryer coin and I don't think someone spooned it cause there isn't any mushrooming beside a thicker rim that looks like a penny. It's also same weight of a dime. The only thing that's different is you can see all three layers and and the rim is nice and wide all the way around. 20171203_151606.jpg

It's simple damage, sir; nothing less or more.

I haven't done this in a long, long, long time. Hold a coin by the obverse and reverse loosely between your thumb and forefinger, rolling it back and forth on a flat surface with just enough downward pressure to flatten the reeds on the edge. Unlike spooning, this doesn't cause the edge of the coin to expand too much.
