Not a foreign Planchet Environmental Damage on a Copper plated Zinc Cent Or de-plated (plating removed) post mint
Do some 'speriments on the post-1982 cents. It doesn't take very much to turn them all kinds of nasty. Start with a little cat pee and go from there.
Just vinegar will do almost the same thing. I took some old junk cents and soaked them in vinegar to make my own wood stain. Comes out a very nice green.
Well, for the time being, having just moved with a cat, and without having done my stock-up grocery run yet, I have more immediate access to cat pee, for now.
