Michigan seems to have lots of these, floating in the change .
This is the third one I've found in the last couple of years .

But what does it all mean? Does it make the coin a little more valuable, or is it all just something interesting to note? Idk, it doesn't mean much to me, so educate me.

This is a doubled die reverse cent? The doubling looks very similar to a lot of the DDD coins being posted recently. To me, it looks like the doubling you see on a lot of the zinc coins which people here on CT has said to be die deterioration doubling or MD.

Doesn't a true DD have to have a split serif or no?

Not all errors are valuable but people do collect all different types some collect MAD some collect grease filled, and die cracks ect. I personally don't collect any of the above-mentioned.

But that's what this Hobbies all about if you like it keep it if you love it collect it so each collection is in the eye of the beholder. JMO

Not all varieties have split serifs and I'm not getting into that .
But I will say, there's 8 different classes of varieties .

It just seems like some people are using an electron microscope to find the tiniest error. I do have several magnifying glasses to find some of the more obvious errors, but if the coin looks fine otherwise, I'll take it. And if I do find a legitimate error, where do I find the people who collect them?

Thank you, I wasn't trying to get into anything, just a bit confused now about what a true DD is vs. DDD/MD. What class does this type of DD fall under? The reason I asked is because I have a few 94s, 95s and 98s that has similar characteristics but chalked it up to DDD and went back to the recycle bag. I keep them just in case I learn some new varieties.
