99.99999999% it was minted in Philadelphia. Not a true No "S" proof.

My guess is because of a video on youtube or a certain book. Just an educated guess though

You need 363,000 pennies (at 2.5 grams each) to make a ton, and the value of the pennies is a paltry $3,632.

 

but $3,632 is a lot more than $ 0.01
irregardless of the size of pile that is needed
