This penny is missing the last digit of the year. It also is missing the i in In god we trust. Maybe struck through grease. It also was struck with a wide rim used on proof coins. Would this be proof that lost its patina?
Yes, it looks like a common grease-filled die. However, I think you are mistaken about a wide rim being associated with proof coins. You must be thinking of a "squared rim" which is common on proof coins because they are struck more than once. As you can see in your photos, the rims appear to be somewhat round. Chris
It's my goal to find the 1991 D doubled dies. I was hoping that the D was maybe missing too and had to check the reverse for my favorite thing to look for.
Ah I see. I stand corrected. The arrow is pointing at the app I use to make arrows can do a lot of different editing with this as well. I can give a walk thru on how to put arrow
Sure... please do. We all should contribute what we can, and I'd think that this would be helpful to many. Arrows are not difficult to do using photoshop (the program, not the app) and I assume the like, but considering the prevalence other smartphones today and how many members have difficulty addressing their concerns, it could only be a win-win.
