Hey guys and gals like to get your opinion on this one I was thinking it was an R/D/D I would appreciate any thoughts or comments on it thank you
What you see on the D Mint Mark is a plating issue. 1988 is a Copper Plated Zinc Cent. If that area gets humid it can cause Zinc Rot I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/zinc-deterioration-on-lincoln-cents/ Not a Mint Error or RPM D/D
My apologies on the D I figured that was deterioration I was talking about the the date itself look like to me a reverse D/D there again I may be seeing things
NO It is only Doubled Die not double-dyed. a Doubled Die Reverse would be on the other side of the Cent Hence - DDO - Doubled Die Obverse DDR - Doubled Die Reverse
Got you thank you very much for clearing that up for me that's why I appreciate you guys so much thanks again
You may have a 1988 with the reverse of 1989. The initials FG on the reverse were changed in 1989. The 1988 FG had a straight line in the vertical portion of the G. The mint changed the G to have a serif. It looks like one, but, I cannot really tell from the pic for sure.
Dash, sorry to act like the grammar police but you need to find and use the "period" or "dot" key on your keyboard. You seem to be making one looonnnnggg sentence in your post, where it is actually 2 or 3 sentences.
Well see I did some research and I thought it was a DDR 006 but I wasn't for sure so that's why I posted it
Well that's my fault I'm older and so I'm not real Handy with the keyboard so I used the auto speak on it and obviously it doesn't put the periods in there so I will work on that thank you.
Wow, that was really unnecessary You really didn't need quotation marks for the words "period" and "dot" ..why?
EMPHASIS....OK? I thought I liked you, but not if you put down someone who is trying to help a person's post to be more understanding.
Sure.. Well the OP explained that they are using speech recognition. I have heard this stated before by other members in the past. This gives me an idea why their sentences are the way they are.
