    Hi guys,

I have this 1989 P Roosevelt dime and see that there is an odd chunk of metal on the obverse right side and a few smaller bits all together at the back of Roosevelt's head, and one at the bottom of the "9" in 1989. Are these all considered die chips or something else?

I usually see smaller die chips scattered across Roosevelt's hair and face and not all clumped together like the one behind Roosevelt's head.

I only see one circle which I'm sure its a chip, those lines your seeing are caused by an extremely worn out die i think.

The striations in front of the forehead and behind the head indicate a worn die, so, yeah those are probably die chips, another indicator the die was near the end of it’s useful life.

I'm not sure if all of the anomalies are from a severely worn die or not.

Very minor and from a worn die.
