Good afternoon CT community! Can anyone let me know exactly what I'm seeing on this 1989 D Lincoln cent? It seems to be some sort of large cud, but I have failed to see anything mentioned on cuds on coins' website. Any and all help is greatly appreciated and thanks again to all in advance for your help! 1989 d lincoln cent cud.jpg

    That would be dried adhesive.
The word IN is seen right through it.

    Not a Mint Error.

You have quite the eye. My knee-jerk reaction was that this was a cud. I saw your post and took a detailed look. You are spot on.

That's dried glue. A CUD looks like this:

I thought it looked like something foreign like glue, but upon closer examination, it seems to have zinc bubbles throughout it and I've attempted to remove it using my fingernail to no avail?
