Ok so I was coin roll hunting last night & found this 1989D penny hopefully it's a ddo I just came out the coin shop & 2 of them said it looks like a double die and one said a die crack I need more options please help..... The pics ain't that great but you can see 2 9s & 2 8s also in liberty the IBER you can see some doubling to what do you guys think?
It is not a doubled die from the photos. Most likely it is plating issues as noticed also in the bubbled surface elsewhere.
