Hello Cointalk its been a while. I need some advice.

A long while back I found this in about 10,000 pennys I was searching. Having just started out I just thought it looked neat. Going back through my collection recently i found it again and realized there *might* be something more to this.

My two questions, what is up with the zinc showing through? Also how can I properly tell if the front is aligned correctly. I think the front is just slightly crooked and that might be why the back has an error. My luck its more likely someones modified the coin in some way.

Either way curiosity is got the better of me on this one. I'd also like to know a ballpark value if possible. Thanks

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Just wear on the reverse and a slightly mis-aligned die on the obverse. Nothing special.
