1989 50c strike through?

Kennedy half from mint set, is this a strike through in trust or a planchet fault before striking?

To me, it looks like a strikethrough from a partially grease & debris-filled die.

 

Looks like a struck through grease.

 

That was my first thought also. Must have been very compacted as it is quite deep into the surface.

 

I’m sure it was a very hard piece to make that indentation.

 

Interesting. While it is just my opinion, and everyone has one, it appears to have been a struck through to me.

Meow thinks no. It is too deep to be a grease spot. Meow would say its a strike through.
