I found this tonight but you have to look hard to see but it's there to be it's 1969. At the bottom date on reverse side it's by Dollar over. Thanks for any help
I don't see anything. How would the date 1969 get on a 1988 quarter? I know strange things happen at the US Mint (A Dime struck on a nail).
to it looks like 1776/1976 i redo another phto to get them all in it can see on the back side as well it felt different and looked diff to me but hell i am no one lol
I think someone used that quarter for metal origami for the numbers to be printed back on itself upside down in some instances. send it in to ANACS or PCGS for attribution .... or maybe listen to the people posting and ask yourself how can this happen ... Actually someone in the San Francisco Mint in 1970 used some 1941 Canadian Quarters and feed them into the machine to get them stamped over.
I think there is only 1 1970-S on a 1941 silver Canadian quarter. I see the number "79" on the reverse bottom center over the R. There's nothing going on with your quarter. If there is, it didn't come from the mint that way.
OK THEN MR CHRIS HOW DO YOU SAY THE GOT THERE WASHER MACHINE LOL ORSUM ONE HIY WITH HAMMER RIGHT UMM NO UMMMM I LOST BUT MR CHRIS HAS THE ANSWER RIGHT
I would have included your comment that I was wrong, but just like seeing something that isn't there (pareidolia), you goofed and put your comment within my comment. You don't know what you're talking about! ~ Chris
The answer Chris gave (pareidolia ) is correct. Between our brain seeking things we are familiar and the wear on the coin which exposes it to damage from over 30 year life, it is not possible to assume it was put there by the mint and thus of no numismatic value. Whether you accept it or not, the only other possibilities are neither possible nor probable to be a mint result. We are not AI . Some of us are easy going, some are grumpy , some are pedantic, but if any of us said the same thing we would get the same answer. Hope you stay as our purpose is education. Jim
It seems you have me confused with Mr. Chris @cpm9ball But it is more apparent you were only trying to get confirmation on your "FACT" that you believe the coin is an error. Of which, then I recommend that you send it in to ANACS or PCGS. here's the problem with digitized images of stained, dirty, old coins. with all those random lines you can start making out anything that you want to. And since you want to convert those random lines into words or letters you can make anything out. For instance just above IN GOD I see "FCEI5" Below TRUST I see a tilted "E", two small Saxophones, and another "E"
