1988 Penny True Doubled Die?

    So after a little more self-education...would this just be considered die deterioration doubling? I was hoping for hub doubling due to the separation on the top left corner of first T...

    Welcome to Coin Talk. A photo of the entire coin (both sides) is always helpful to determine what you have. Also, clear photos of the area in question. Check this site and compare your coin to those listed. https://doubleddie.com/448712.html
    IMO you don't have a doubled die cent. From what little I can see it looks more like MD. (Copper coated zinc cents are susceptible to different kinds of doubling).

    I suspect you are correct about DDD in the area I see in photograph. Notice the raised lines that disappear under the letters, indicating a possible repaired die. IMO. Jim
