1988 Lincoln with double FG Reverse ??? or PMD

    Hi Every one, I hope everone has had a safe holiday weekend, and has recived rolls and rolls of unserched coins.

    I'm leaning toward PMD. One of the problems you encounter with circulated coins is that they are so susceptible to all kinds of handling and damage. If it were true hub doubling or even machine doubling, you would see a line of separation between corresponding letters.

    Hi Chris Thank You For the reply, Maybe i can run this one by you and others, Could this possibley be the 1988 lincoln which has the designer intials inteded for the 1989 lincoln?? Which others have reported finding, I gonna try and get some more pics for comparison. But I due agree, that i would thing there should be some seperation between letters. thanks again Frank

    The First two are of the 1988 Lincoln, and the last one is of the 1989

    The first three photos make it look like die deterioration is causing the doubling, but then with other photos you've included, it looks like the designer's initials may have just taken a hit.

    Either way, it is nothing that will command a premium... Sorry. :)
