1988 Lincoln cent DD?

    Strike doubling - same as machine doubling.

    Though it certainly is an interesting piece, this coin shows the "shelf-like" doubling very clearly. You can see where the die descended lightly, flattening part of the design. MD.

    If You see "Shelf-Like" Doubling very clearly how could this be MD? can it be MD and DD?

    Because shelf-like doubling is indicative of MD, not a DD. You can clearly see the shelf and how the doubling "cuts into" the design.

    A doubled die is not shelf-like and does not cut into the design.
