1988 linchon cent looks like 88 doubled ?

hi all any thoughts on this ?looks like 88 is doubled. thx

Clearly not a doubled die... Looks like die deterioration doubling.

 

Plating split doubling is common on the copper plated zinc cents. Not an error or variety. You'll see this sometimes across the tops of the letters as well.
