Like Sal said, yes it is a wide AM. Congrats! The only thing is, that's the way it supposed to be minted. The close AM is the variety.
The 85d rpm maybe 98 where vdb is pushed idk what to make of it 89 and 99 I'm lost I want to say it but I feel its a stupid answer
Please concentrate on one coin at a time. Don't grab up a handful and post a slew of pics after watching a YouTube vid or seeing a one-in-a-million posted in a magazine. Makes it hard to help you help yourself that way. 1989 = scratch under date. Maybe a bit greased on Liberty & ridge line issue. 1999 D = a lot of wear & DDD. Reverse (I'm assuming 199D) = Plating Blisters & strike doubling 1998D = environmental damage (stain) near Abe's forehead. 1985D= dirty old coin 1990 = 1990P w/stains
Thank you ima post the same and highlight it if it nothing tell me so I dont do this to other coins and waste my time and yours
hey Italy8686, I just wanted to put my 2 cents in, maybe its just me but every post you have written seems like your in a rush. its even hard to read what your trying to type. please dont get the wrong idea here, im not downing you by any means. I dont do that to anybody. If you think i have I apologize I can tell your very interested in this hobby/profession and thats a good thing.. the 1988D coin your asking about, yea this particular coin, the "Wide AM" in the word AMERICA on the reverse is suppose to be like that. and the link SensibleSal66 posted is what people need to read about wide and close AMs, good luck to ya man
On the first photo, that is approximately where the head wound and powder residue was, so the photo is historically accurate.
