1988-D Penny w/ Zinc showing???

    What is the deal with this penny? Why does it look like the zinc is show if that is the case?

    The Slight copper plating was stripped off leaving the zinc underneath.Damaged,most likely a experiment but still a cent.

    Agreed a partially plated cent will have the luster of a newly struck plated cent. your coin looks altered.

    Thx I really appreciate ya'll letting me know this. I know coins better then some(general public i mean), but I know there is a ton of info that I have to learn still.
