My husband picked up some coin rolls for me today and this was one of my finds. It's a 1988 D with what looks like an extra column on the reverse. I compared to a few others and it definitely looks like an extra column. This is my first time finding anything! Is it an actual column or is there a name for this one besides doubling? I haven't found anything about this one yet. It has a lot of "bubbles" though. It's not fake is it?
    TIA!

Just by looking at the Obverse side I see that it is a worn die strike..
So, the Reverse side would be affected if it's a Die Deterioration issue. The column is a result of the deterioration and not true doubling IMHO

1988 Cents are Copper Plated Zinc Cents which have plating issues such as bubbles and blisters... it is real, not fake.

I agree with @paddyman98 I remember when I was CRH I use to find those I to thought they where extra columns.

After I did some research on extra columns and seen what they where then I new it wasn't. JMO
