seen on obverse moderate doubling on date. seen on doubling on 'of ' at south end of coin. also on reverse seen is large crack at 9 o clock running down to 4 o'clock
A little die deterioration doubling on a coin that suffered environmental damage. Please take the time to read about the coin and die making process on John Wexler's site. Also take the time to read the section on worthless double. http://doubleddie.com/228401.html This link has been posted a couple of times for you. It will explain why the coins you've been posting are not errors. Against my better judgement, I still hope that you're just a confused new collector and not a troll. Your future responses will show if you did the homework and studied Wexler's site. However, I think it's a foregone conclusion that I'm wasting my time. But, you never know
If it's a foregone conclusion, then you do know. If you never know, it's not a foregone conclusion. That being said, I get what you are saying. But really, making use of the resources available is one of the better things a newbie type collector can do.
Note the key word... "I think it's a foregone conclusion that I'm wasting my time. But, you never know." I get what you're saying though.
Just a little hyperbole to embellish the post . But I rarely use "double die" or "penny" (unless referring to the UK Coin). Does that get me any credit?
What's really kewl is that is a reverse die nickel. I looked it up on PCGS and those are worth a full 1/20th of a dollar!!
