1988 and 1989 RPM?

Came across these two will doing a batch of CRH... Can't seem to find any matches on coppercoins, but perhaps due to wear? Images of both are herein. I see split serifs but perhaps it's just my imagination.

Thoughts?

The '89 looks like a plating issue to me, and I'm on the fence about the '88 as well. From the images, it looks like the 88 is machine doubling. Looks flat and shelf like.

 

Both have plating issues and maybe some MD additionally on the 88
