1987 quarter

    I just found this roll searching.I've never seen one like this before.I don't think it's post mint damage because the anomaly in the ponytail is raised and it looks like the metal folwed down to that area.So my question is do you guys think it's PMD or a clash of some sort,or none of the above?     I don't think anyone, here, will be able to tell without an in-hand examination. You'll probably have to send it to one of the experts.

    You can see the displacement of the metal. I believe it to be PMD.

    To me and based on these photos, I believe this to be PMD. The entire coin is worn, scratched, pitted and plain beat-up. My first thought was solder and I'm sticking to it. Someone had too much time on there hands. Rick is right! Solder and fun. :)

    All.. you can see a trail of where more solder material was located once. Die Breaks would not just fall off.. PMD

    The displaced metal makes me think PMD, sorry.

    Thank you TJ. Then I think I'm right when I look at the blobs near Washington's hair are die chips. Certainly not a soldering job.
