I just found this roll searching.I've never seen one like this before.I don't think it's post mint damage because the anomaly in the ponytail is raised and it looks like the metal folwed down to that area.So my question is do you guys think it's PMD or a clash of some sort,or none of the above?
I don't think anyone, here, will be able to tell without an in-hand examination. You'll probably have to send it to one of the experts. Chris
I will post a photo of the reverse.Maybe mike will stop by and give us some input. Thanks for the reply's. have a good day.
To me and based on these photos, I believe this to be PMD. The entire coin is worn, scratched, pitted and plain beat-up. My first thought was solder and I'm sticking to it. Someone had too much time on there hands. Rick is right! Solder and fun.
Here's the reverse.Chris your right this one is a wild.Maybe mike will stop by and give us some input
All.. you can see a trail of where more solder material was located once. Die Breaks would not just fall off.. PMD
Thanks you all.You guys are so fast, I could not type in my first response. Before there was four more reply's.I think rick was right someone was soldiering this one having fun.
Thank you TJ. Then I think I'm right when I look at the blobs near Washington's hair are die chips. Certainly not a soldering job.
