1987 Lincoln with Rim Crack! Planchet Error?

    I think what you are seeing is a ridge ring caused by a worn/deteriorating die. They only appear on zincolns from 1982 onwards. 1987 is very common for these. IMO

    It's not a Planchet error..

    …the cracking is split plating, associated with the deterioration along with thin plating and normal striking pressure. All of it is common and valueless.
