It's hard to describe this coin, because I know nothing about errors. I found this in my pocket change tonight. I hope the pictures can show what the coin is and someone can help me determine what type of error this is, if infact it is an error, and the approximate value, if any... Thanks everyone!
Here's a picture of the reverse. It looks like any other lincoln cent reverse (to me). Thanks again for looking!
It does look like glue - you can see some of the original detail of the cent through the fairly transparent glue on top.
I agree with those that said glue job . two coins have been glued together and someone seperated them. someone said maybe vise job , it would be impossible to push another coin hard enough into a coin to make this much extra design without doing any damage to the other side of the coin at all. just imagine how much pressure would have had to be applied to do this and remember that a reaction creates a opposite reaction.
