    There seems to be plenty on eBay available in the $325 to $375 range. Why would anyone pay $800? Also, I believe the actual weight of the gold (not the coin) is 0.2418 Troy ounces.

    It's value is tied tightly to its actual gold content. In his case, it is worth about $297.
