Mushy and almost missing the ER in Liberty and is completely missing the TER in Quarter on the reverse. Is this struck through grease or something different? Weight is 5.58 grams. 20220321_233722.jpg 20220321_233706.jpg

Called a Grease filled Die error or Greaser for short. ;)

When you get a coin like this, have a look at the fullness of the rim. If you have a full rim, and missing devices, its usually a grease filled die. But not always the case (e.g., on the reverse of Zinc LMCs, the word STATES oF are sometimes faded because of a weak strike where the material wasn't moved enough). Also, be sure to flip the coin. Weak on one side might mean a problem with the other.

If the rim isn't fully formed, and the coin not struck with a misaligned die, the faded devices on the edge might indicate a weak strike.

Would that be a double greaser ? Both sides suffered a struck thru.

    Interesting double greaser.

Appears a glob of something got on both dies before striking.

I'd keep it. It's an interesting example.
