So my buddy comes over today, and throws me a couple pennies because he always bares witness to me geeking out on coins, any free chance I get. All are nothing even interesting, until, I am looking upon the last one he handed me. As I almost am preparing to dismiss the coin and throw it in the "spenders pile" The initials on the back next to the Lincoln Memorial that normally appear F.G. Looked a little peculiar. I grab my magnifying glass which comes equipped with a small L.E.D, and inspect more closely. I must've checked and rechecked 8 times, and even pulled my aside to verify my findings...
We've both agreed upon the same conclusion that the 1987-D cent does indeed have the intials E.G. on the reverse instead of the usual F.G.
We've also compared it side by side to another 1987 Lincoln and drawn the same conclusion.

I now come to you, great people, of the Coin Talk community to look at my penny, draw your own conclusions, and share your thoughts.

If you happen to agree with my conclusion, I have a few questions in mind too, that Id love to atleast get some outside speculation on before I make the investmen, and send it to PCGS.

Thanks for participating in my first CT thread and I look forward to every ones input

P.s. Yes I know and I will post a better more close up pic of the coin and I will also Post a side by side comparison of another 1987 lincoln with it. Try clicking the pic to enlarge and zoom in till then. It should get you close enough to see what I'm talking about.
