1987 D Cent. What causes all these bumps ont he coin?

    These are called plating blisters. The underlying zinc is pretty unstable metal. Common occurrence. Not really any added value. I keep the more extreme examples. I think they are kinda cool

    I have a Celestron Digital Microscope Pro. Cost about 80 bucks from target.
