There are two things going on with the reverse. One is Die deterioration, and the other is a grease filled die.
Yeah it don't look good does it buddy but that is all right man I want lie I been doing this for awhile I am done reading your mind something I've got good at your thinking right now I can't tell. Man they ant a book or nothing else I've not done for years about these DDO and DDR I've seen the pro go at it for ever about one coin is it a doubled die or not I've read post were you guys that been doing this way longer than me go for ever if that is a true die. These coins don't have junk price for no reason the best of the best will miss them seen it with my own eyes what is left. I've seen doubled die that you would say no the next man going good job that is what I like about DDO and DDR there is no perfect answer on some of theses coins I won't say nothing if you say it ant it ant I move own go through thousands of Penny's in a day time it's one roll after another there out there but you got to look hard I'm sorry I've got to take a guess at times can't see nothing so when I do score man it's love would not be no fun if I just bought ever body coin rolls to open and I watch. But you can take this to the bank I appreciate everything you guys do I tilt my hat to you guys were do you find the time to do your own thing just curious think about it there no better feeling than helping someone specially when they do it buy there self. I have found a few over the years but they didn't come ever day and I have open my chair of rolls other people collection and there not even a doubled die in it I love the hunt no better feeling I go couple days at a time to I can't hold my head up and still it's crazy what you will find there out there keep the hunt fun i love this hobby. I'm in the thousands just with coins that are maybe that is how deep the hole goes around my place and every body I no errors or not they just keep giving it to me. If I took a picture of a 1969 might be a d can't remember got to much going on the last few days but has anybody seen a doubled die eye bow for that year I didn't want to hurt this guy feeling but he is just pump up over this coin he give it to me he like do you see it ant it crazy I'm blind I'm not for sure about it does anybody want to take a look and see if they can see it. It does seem like something coming out of the side of the eye but I want put no money own it maybe 20 years ago back win I could see. You ever heard a person all most blind and collect coins I do everything thing has to be stronger all the time got a 60x in the mail coming.
DD(Die Deterioration) and wear, nothing more. Difficult to read, spell check your work Bentley. Thanks for posting, good luck.
Have you ever heard of a doubled die eye bow on a 1969 I think it's a d not sure but we're talking about a dime.
Notice that the area opposite STATES OF on the obverse is Lincoln's shoulder. That needs a lot of metal to fill it during striking. When the die wears and the set up distance between dies is a little off, that area on the reverse may not completely fill. You'll see weakness in that area of the reverse on lots of cents. It's not a error.
