1986 Nickel

    Can anyone tell me what caused the nickel on the left to look like this? I scanned the other nickel at the same time, side by side, just to have something to compare too.

    Looks like acid corrosion to me. I really don't think it's grease filled die or anything like that.

    I would concur with acid being the culprit
