I just purchased this today the Mint Mark struck me as funny. Does anyone know what is going on with this or is it normal? Don't know much about Kennedy varieties.
    Thanks

I'd guess some grease or gunk got into the mintmark area of the die. Nice find!

Thanks Noost Appreciate the observation on the coin I have yet to do any kind of research on Kennedy's yet. I was looking at it again this morning and took a shot of this "R" looked interesting also. Still learning

I think I have a clone of your coin. Almost identical.:thumb:

I don't see any grease marks in you coin so I'd have to say that the mintmark die/hub was chipped and the bottom serif is missing. Unique and nice coins.

I'd say overpolished die and it is making the mintmark thin and caused the loss of the serif.
