This coin has seen better days.. But I noticed that it barely has a rim around it and doesn't look like.. It only weighs 2.48 grams.. The mintmark has something under it.. A lot going on here.. What is wrong with the rim?? And is this some form of mint damage or post mint damage.. I know some is circulation and die deteriorating.. But, is there any doubling as well?? Unfortunately what you are seeing is due to the coins composition, Zinc. Worn die, circulation damage and generally a poor strike.

Another crapy Zincoln cent. This is why I seldom take a second look at cents produced after 1982. Based upon the photos you posted, I'm not sure what you mean by the rim hardly being there. Looks intact to me.
