Hi. I Have Some Kind Of Coin. I Don't Even Know The Face Value Of It. It Is From 1986. I Have No Idea Where Its From. Anybody Know The Value Or Place Of Production? Thanks.
The sucre is the basic Ecuadorian currency, consisting of 100 centavos. ("Un" is Spanish for "one") At the current conversion rate, the face value of your coin is 1/2,500 of 1 US cent!
Hello folks! Just a little bit more info: Ecuador which use to use "Sucres" now uses US currency. I think alot of those unpopular or popular SACS (depends on who you listen to) were shipped to this country to use. The people were apparently pleased to received them, as they thought the image on the back was an indigenous (spelling?) Ecuadorian woman. Apparently I have heard that they had some counterfeit SAC coins in circulation. I also heard that they busted one counterfeiting ring within the last year. :smile
