While looking over my Lincoln book, I noticed this 85 proof stand out with this die gouge. IMG_9518.jpg The 2000 SAC Wounded Eagle came to mind. There is a large premium on a high graded WE SAC and wanted to know if the same carries over to other coins such as this proof Lincoln. Is this worth sending in to Potter or Wexler? I couldn't find anything out there about this coin. Any words from the Lincoln experts. :thumb:

Bump - Haven't been on in a while and just wanted to see if anyone had any comments about this one. Thanks.

I'm wondering if it's a die gouge or a plating issue. I see these lines a lot on the zincolns and they seem to be air trapped under the plating. Never seen it on a proof, but then again I don't handle many of those.

My first thought was a die scratch or gouge, but there seem to be other striations parallel to it which could point toward a plating problem. I don't think it is something that could really be determined from a photo.
